Bakery - Restaurant General Manager – Le Pain Quotidien Hungary (LPQ Hungary)

The General Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the first Le Pain Quotidien Hungary store in Budapest. You will act as a "bridge" between management and team members to facilitate operations and keep the leadership team appraised of staff activities and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Financial Management:
- organize staff throughout the store to deliver efficient customer service and a profitable operation
- strive to achieve the Le Pain Quotidien Hungary budget and forecasts through organized staffing and efficient service
- follow all Le Pain Quotidien Hungary cash handling procedures, ensuring sales figures are entered daily and banking is kept in a locked, attended safe
- fulfil all administrative tasks, including registering voids, discounts, and job sheets for the Finance Department
- ensure any disciplinary development or payroll issues follow company guidelines and are reported to HR
2. People Leadership & Training:
- identify training needs and use leadership to motivate staff toward high performance and team spirit
- ensure every new employee receives a full induction on Day 1
- maintain up-to-date training records, Proficiency Charts, and Team Member Scorecards
- conduct post-probationary reviews after the first 3 months of employment and every 3 months thereafter
- record performance outcomes and ensure every termination is accompanied by the correct payment of accrued holiday
3. Quality, Health & Safety:
- ensure the store always achieves the highest Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards
- complete the Daily Check Log (DCL) twice a day
- maintain the store display in accordance with current Le Pain Quotidien Hungary Display Guidelines
- monitor fire safety equipment (extinguishers/lighting) and ensure all team members are aware of Fire Assembly Points and the Fire Warden
- conduct annual assessments for each employee and maintain the Accident Book
Qualifications:
- experience: min. 3 years of experience in restaurant management
- languages: Native Hungarian speaking and strong communication in English
